Some of my favorite Grounding Practices

Seasonal transitions, wild and erratic collective energies, solar flares, eclipse season, planetary retrogrades, overthinking, anxiety, perimenopause, C*VID, and all the things -- more than enough reasons to start, expand, or solidify our Grounding Practices.
And what is Grounding?
Grounding is the practice of connecting with the present moment and anchoring yourself to the earth, helping to stabilize your energy and emotions. It involves techniques that draw your awareness to your body and surroundings, such as deep breathing, visualization, or physical contact with nature, like walking barefoot on grass. Grounding helps you feel centered, calm, and balanced, reducing anxiety and stress by bringing you back to a state of physical and emotional presence. It's a powerful way to feel more connected to yourself and the world around you, promoting overall well-being.
Here are some of my favorite Grounding Practices:
  1. Earth Neurovascular Reflex Points Hold (Energy Medicine Yoga technique)- Cover your eye sockets with your palms, gently resting the heels of your hands on your cheekbones.  Hold here for several easy breaths.
  2. Spooning the feet -  rub a stainless steel spoon on all areas of the feet; the soles, tops, and toes. An Eden Energy Medicine technique.
  3. Earthing (Walking Barefoot), sitting with feet or body in grass/sand, grounding mat for 10-20 minutes daily. Gently breathe and feel your connection to Mother Earth, allowing it to absorb any negative or heavy energy/emotions/feelings to be recycled.
  4. Connecting with Nature, nature walk in neighborhood or nearby park. Spend time in nature, whether walking, gardening, or simply sitting under a tree. Nature naturally absorbs and transforms heavy energy.
  5. Water!  Ocean, lake, creek… and/or Salt Bath or Salt Scrub. Float, swim, wade, dip your feet into water, again enjoying being in and connected to Nature. When that's not available, soak in a bath with Epsom salt or use a salt scrub in the shower. Salt and water help to cleanse and release absorbed energy.
  6. Grounding Cord activation/connection Meditation. Gently inhale through the nose, filling the belly with air, and exhale while visualizing/imagining/intending/sensing an energetic cord extending from the base of your spine into the earth’s core. Imagine sending excess energy down the cord and receiving stabilizing earth energy back
  7. Boundary bubble of highest light activation/Visualization. Envision yourself surrounded by an energetic bubble of light that allows only the highest light or your own stuff to enter, all else is directed elsewhere.
  8. Body Scan Meditation - with your Grounding Cord and Boundary bubble in place, then Close your eyes and mentally scan your body from head to toe, acknowledging any tension or emotional heaviness. Imagine releasing these feelings into the earth.
  9. Receive Craniosacral Therapy sessions -  receiving gentle, yet profound healing bodywork has helped many people (especially me)  feel more “in their bodies”  or other bodywork
  10. Weighted Blanket, small sandbag, heating pad or Pressure Points. Use a weighted blanket or press down gently on pressure points, such as the palms or the tops of the feet, to feel physically grounded. I sleep with my weighted blanket covering my lower body/legs.
  11. Holding a Grounding Stone. Use crystals like black tourmaline, hematite, or smoky quartz. Hold the stone in your hand and visualize it absorbing any unwanted energy. Remember to clear the stone occasionally, using your hand/intention to "wipe" the stone and shake your hand off, sending the energies to the Earth for recycling.
  12. Sound Healing with Drumming or Singing Bowls. Use drumming, singing bowls, or grounding sounds like a low hum to connect with your body’s natural rhythm and the earth’s vibrations. I try to attend local sound baths as often as I can. You may also be able to find virtual or recording sound healing/bath sessions on Youtube, Insight timer, and more.

See what you think. Try the ones that resonate with you, leave the rest.
I'd love to hear about what works for you in the comments : )
